The Integrated CEO Journey: Empowering Leadership, Driving Success.

My story

I launched my first company in New York City at 24, achieved my first exit by 30, and was well on my way to success. I always knew I wanted to work for myself, and after an intense and rewarding career in F&B management, I realized the restaurant industry wasn’t my long-term passion.

My initial business venture was a specialty food distribution company, where I serviced and collaborated with many top restaurants and chefs. The business model, now known as farm-to-table, was quite rare back then.

After reaching a certain level of success and facing an entrepreneurial plateau, I decided to merge the business and exit the industry. This decision allowed me to pursue other interests, leading me to return to academia and earn an MBA in International Business.

In 1999, I founded Grandview Capital as a boutique investment bank. The company provides strategic financial, technical, and innovative corporate advisory and capital market services to emerging growth clients globally. Then the 2008 financial crisis hit, and I lost everything.

That time was more than just a time of economic hardship for me; it was a period filled with personal challenges, including serious health issues and the end of my marriage. Those days tested me to the core, challenging my resilience and character like never before.
In the years following the 2008 financial crisis, I learned the value of antifragility and embracing uncertainty. Refusing to file for bankruptcy was one of the most critical decisions I have ever made.

I have had the support of many amazing people and mentors who gave me hope and inspiration during my difficult period. In my journey of reinvention, particularly during times of hardship, I focused on my long-standing mission to work with and support entrepreneurs.

This took shape through my in-depth knowledge of the capital markets, and the growth strategies of global early-stage companies. It was more than just a career shift; it was about embodying a vision that extends beyond financial success

This vision led to the creation of two pivotal ventures. The first is Exchange Listing which I started in 2019. Exchange Listing was founded to help burgeoning companies scale up and list on prestigious Senior Exchanges like NASDAQ and NYSE. The second is Emmis Capital, a boutique investment fund founded in 2022 and anchored in the principles of integrity and leadership. Both these endeavors reflect my commitment not just to business success, but to ethical and mindful growth.

Since founding these companies, I have worked with countless emerging growth companies and CEOs to realize their dreams of listing on a senior exchange. I have also returned to school where I’ve studied Board Governance at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.

Now, as I seek to integrate my life as a CEO, businessman, and lifelong student, I created the Integrated CEO framework to mentor and educate entrepreneurs by integrating Self-Leadership, Optimal Performance, and Purpose-Driven Strategy.

Utilizing Self-Leadership to build emotional intelligence and resilience to inspire others, commit to lifelong learning, and prioritize well-being for sustained high performance. Optimal Performance to foster a high-performance culture, streamline operations, and use data-driven decisions for continuous improvement. Purpose-driven strategy to develop a visionary mission, translate it into actionable steps, and foster innovation and adaptability to stay ahead of trends.

As I continue on this path, my focus is on building a strong community of entrepreneurs and leveraging my experience in the capital markets. The core values driving these efforts are integrity, mindfulness, and empathy. These aren’t just business principles; they’re a way of life, guiding how I lead, mentor, and connect within the entrepreneurial landscape.

I split my time between Europe and the US. I’m a dad to an incredible daughter and son who are my pride and joy. I’m an avid coffee drinker and make it my mission to travel the globe and visit the Stock Exchange of every new country I travel to if this sounds interesting to you, make sure you sign up for my newsletter; The Integrated CEO.

The first step for any CEO looking to go public and get listed on a U.S. exchange should be to speak with Peter. He and the team he has built at Exchange Listing are second to none. And for steps as important as going public and listing (or uplisting) on an exchange, you need to work with the best. I recommend all my clients speak with Peter as soon as they start considering taking their company public.

Peter is a top-notch guy and the first call I make when I need a connection or to learn something about going public in the US, especially the NASDAQ. I also had Peter on my company’s podcast and he did a fantastic job educating our listeners on US listings. I’m looking forward to many more years working together.
